Hampden Chambers is, in effect, a network of solicitors specialising in various areas of law. There is high potential, albeit no guarantee, of referral of work between solicitors who are part of the Hampden Chambers network.
Is Hampden Chambers a law firm?
No. Hampden Chambers is a service provider to solicitors. Solicitors who join Hampden Chambers remain responsible for their own activities and are not in partnership with Hampden Chambers nor any other solicitor within the Hampden Chambers network.
Can any solicitor join the Hampden Chambers network?
There are no set criteria regarding admission to the Hampden Chambers network apart from being a solicitor recognised by the SRA, or a similar authority if a lawyer or law firm is based outside the UK. Nonetheless, admission to the Hampden Chambers network remains at the sole discretion of the Hampden Group.
Is there a minimum term I can take office space for?
Minimum occupancy is just three months, with one month’s notice, so you’re totally flexible.
Might other solicitors within the Hampden Chambers network pinch my clients?
A non-solicitation agreement is signed by solicitors joining Hampden Chambers to ensure client confidentiality.
How is Hampden Chambers different from other serviced office providers?
Hampden Chambers is dedicated entirely and exclusively to solicitors and offers a range of services that are not available from other serviced office providers. These include:
- Qualified in-house accountants who are familiar with the accounts examination rules of the Law Society
- Online services such as IRIS and Lexis Nexis with multi user discounts
- The provision of experienced locums
- Legal process outsourcing
How much does it cost to use Hampden Chambers?
Hampden Chambers offers a range of services with clients able to choose whichever they may require. In terms of costs, these depend on individual requirements and we therefore provide individual quotes on request. We do, however, recognise that whilst Hampden Chambers is the only organisation offering a range of services which are entirely dedicated to solicitors, you still have a choice and our services are priced accordingly.
Can Hampden Chambers help if I become ill or become overwhelmed with work?
Hampden Chambers has experienced commercial solicitors on its staff, and a directory of firms and individuals who will, at short notice, provide professional support and assistance.
Can I use the support services offered by Hampden Chambers if I only take a virtual office rather than serviced office space?
Yes, services such as our accounting and secretarial support are available to solicitors taking a virtual office package. We provide remote services that would normally only come from being in a corporate building with full administrative support.
